The Bluebox, which is installed in the vehicle, has a GPS chip which receives signals simultaneously from 4 or more satellites. These signals are received every few seconds and give precise data on the vehicle’s latitude, longitude, speed and the precise time when such data was recorded. This data is stored in the built in memory of the GPS chip system.
A GSM / GPRS chip with SIM card is also contained in the
This reads the vehicle’s latitude, longitude, speed and time data from the GPS memory and transmits this data over the cell phone network every 5 minutes or so to the base station server. The interval at which data is sent to the base station is programmable and can range from every 30 seconds to several hours.
A proprietary software package called
is loaded on the base station server. This software deciphers the signals received and converts them into easily understandable maps, reports and alerts. The users, after logging on to the base station server from their PC can see their vehicle’s current location & speed on the map, as well as other parameters such as the route traveled, moving time, stop time etc. In addition, various SMS alerts are sent to designated cellphones, such as overspeed alerts, geofence alerts, inactivity alerts, vehicle theft alert, SOS alert etc. In case of theft of their vehicle, the users can immobilize the vehicle remotely from their cellphone, locate its position on the map & inform the police.
In case of a fleet of vehicles using our products ( for eg. a transport company with dozens of trucks ), apart from all of the above, the bluepac software also displays the simultaneous position & speeds of all the vehicles on the same map for a quick management perspective.
also generates a variety of driver wise and vehicle wise reports which greatly assist in cost reduction, increased productivity & much improved customer service.
